Quick answers about making, sharing and buying songs on Tunely. Can’t find what you need? Contact us.

1. Making songs

How do I make a song?

Go to Create, pick a song type or describe your own idea, choose a style, and add the details that make it yours. Tunely can write the lyrics, use lyrics you wrote, or make an instrumental. We suggest a title, and you can change it later.

Who can make songs?

You need an account with a verified email address, and you must be 18 or older. We ask you to confirm your age before your first song.

How long does it take?

Usually a few minutes. You don’t have to wait on the page: your song appears in your Library when it’s ready. Songs run about two minutes.

2. Songs left and song packs

How does my balance work?

Each song you make uses one song from your balance. You can see how many you have left in the sidebar and on the Create page.

How do I get more songs?

Buy a song pack from the Create page. Packs are one-time purchases, so nothing renews, and pack songs don’t expire. Checkout is handled securely by Stripe, and the songs are added as soon as you return to Tunely.

I bought songs but they aren’t showing.

Give it a moment, then refresh your songs. If they still don’t appear, contact us and we’ll sort it out.

3. Failed songs

What happens if a song fails?

It’s marked Could not create song in your Library, and the song it used goes straight back to your balance. You don’t need to do anything.

Can I try again?

Yes. Retry starts a new attempt with the same details and uses one song. If that attempt fails too, it’s returned the same way.

My song failed and I didn’t get it back.

That shouldn’t happen. Contact us with the song’s title and we’ll make it right.

4. Sharing and privacy

Who can see my songs?

New songs are private. You choose who can hear each one:

  • Public: anyone can find and play it, and it shows on your profile.
  • Unlisted: only people with the link can play it.
  • Private: only you.

Can I take back an unlisted link?

Yes. Reset the link in the song’s sharing settings. The old link stops working, and you get a new one to share.

How do playlists and my profile work?

Playlists have the same three options. A shared playlist only shows each listener the songs they’re allowed to see. Your profile is public and lists only your public songs.

What if I delete a song by mistake?

Deleted songs stay in Recently deleted for 30 days, and restoring one brings back its sharing settings and look. After that, it’s gone for good.

Everything you share needs to follow our Community guidelines.

5. Players and embeds

How do I change how my song looks?

Open your song and choose Customize. Pick a player, then make it yours. Listeners see the look you choose wherever the song is played.

How do I put a song on my site?

On the song’s page, choose Embed to copy the code, then paste it into your site. Embeds are free and include a link back to Tunely.

Why can’t I embed my song?

Private songs can’t be embedded. Make the song Public or Unlisted, and check that Allow embedding is on in its sharing settings.

6. The web and the app

Is my web account the same as my app account?

Not automatically. To use one account in both places, connect the Apple ID you use in the app in Settings › Security. Your plan and songs left then show up on the web, and songs you make in either place share one balance.

If that Apple ID already has its own Tunely account with songs or purchases, we can’t combine the two. Log out and continue with Apple to use that account instead. If you need things moved between accounts, contact us.

Who handles my purchases?

Song packs bought on tunely.com are handled by Tunely, so contact us about a missing purchase or a refund. Anything you bought in the app, including subscriptions, is handled by Apple: manage, cancel or request a refund through the App Store. Deleting your Tunely account doesn’t cancel an App Store subscription.
